The 13-year-old appeared composed and confident as he arrived at the historic Berkshire institution wearing the school's traditional black tailcoat, waistcoat, pinstriped trousers, a stiff white collar, and polished black shoes.

The Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales accompanied their son for his first day, arriving shortly after 11 a.m. Despite wet and windy weather, the family made their way together through the school’s quadrangle beneath the 16th-century Lupton's Tower. Catherine, dressed in a dark-green outfit, shielded herself with a large black umbrella, while William and George braved the rain.

Upon arrival, they were greeted by Eton’s headmaster, Simon Henderson, and Sir Nicholas Coleridge, the school’s provost and chair of the governing body. Henderson offered words of encouragement to George, wishing him good luck and enjoyment. George then signed the school’s entrance book in the original building’s fourth-form passage, officially enrolling as a pupil. During this moment, the Princess of Wales was seen offering her son a supportive gesture as they entered the school.
