No. 3 Georgia secured a 27-8 victory over No. 17 Florida on Saturday in an indoor rivalry game held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The matchup, traditionally played as a neutral site event known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, was moved due to renovations at EverBank Stadium. Next year’s game is scheduled for Tampa Bay before returning to Jacksonville.

Georgia (7-1, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) capitalized on four Florida turnovers to dominate the contest and extend its winning streak against the Gators to six games. A key moment came late in the first half when Florida’s second quarterback, Tramell Jones Jr., fumbled under pressure by Georgia's Quintavius Johnson. Chris Cole picked up the loose ball and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown, marking his second long fumble return of the season after an 85-yard score against Oklahoma in September.

The Bulldogs also controlled the ground game, out-rushing Florida 217-48 as part of a defensive effort that coach Kirby Smart highlighted as crucial. By limiting Florida’s rushing attack, Georgia forced the Gators into a more predictable passing offense, increasing pressure on Florida’s quarterbacks.

Florida began with Aaron Philo at quarterback, returning from a shoulder injury that sidelined him in the previous game against Texas. However, Philo struggled, throwing two interceptions and underperforming in his role. After his second interception, which came on a high pass intended for Eric Singleton Jr. but was picked off by Demello Jones, Philo was replaced by Tramell Jones Jr. Jones, however, also faced challenges, including the fumble returned for a touchdown just before halftime and an interception in the end zone during a third-quarter drive.

Georgia built a 24-0 halftime lead with touchdowns on short runs by Bo Walker and Nate Frazier. Florida’s offensive star running back Jadan Baugh, who entered the game leading the Southeastern Conference with 13 rushing touchdowns, was limited to just 38 yards on 17 carries.

In the fourth quarter, Florida avoided a shutout when Jones completed a 23-yard pass to Luke Harpring on a fourth-down play, setting up Jones’ 2-yard rushing touchdown. Baugh then completed a two-point conversion pass to Dallas Wilson.

The game drew a near even split of fans from both schools in the stadium, although Georgia appeared to have a slight advantage in attendance. With the roof closed due to the indoor setting, the traditional outdoor rivalry atmosphere shifted but did not diminish the intensity of the contest.
