A 14-year-old girl was killed in a vehicle accident on the Princes Highway near Boydtown, around 8 kilometers south of Eden on the far south coast of New South Wales, on Saturday night. The girl, who was a back seat passenger in a Toyota LandCruiser, died at the scene after the vehicle struck a kangaroo and subsequently rolled down an embankment.

New South Wales Police reported that the driver, a 20-year-old man, was trapped in the vehicle but was freed by emergency services. He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in serious condition. Two other passengers, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were treated at the scene. The woman was hospitalised at Bega Hospital for further treatment, while the 19-year-old man was not transported.

A separate fatal crash occurred on Sunday morning on The Bucketts Way at Booral, approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Nelsons Bay on the mid-north coast. A man in his 30s died at the scene after a utility vehicle pulling a horse float flipped and rolled, colliding with two motorcyclists.

The second motorcyclist, a man in his 70s, sustained serious leg injuries and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition. The 18-year-old female driver of the utility was assessed by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment. She was taken to Stroud Police Station for a breath analysis following an alleged positive roadside breath test.

Police confirmed the horse inside the float was unharmed in the incident. Both crashes remain under active investigation by New South Wales authorities.
