Nicola Roberts, the youngest member of the British girl group Girls Aloud, has welcomed her first child at the age of 40. The singer revealed the news privately on social media, sharing that she and her fiancé, Australian rules footballer Mitch Hahn, had become parents to a baby girl a few weeks earlier.
Roberts, who rose to fame as a teenager when Girls Aloud was formed, posted heartfelt messages alongside photos of her daughter. One image showed the newborn’s tiny hand, while another featured Hahn, 37, gently holding their child. In her message, Roberts expressed her joy, describing the baby’s face as “perfect” and her head as “soft,” emphasizing the happiness the couple felt in the early days of parenthood.
The pregnancy had some challenges. Roberts shared that she underwent surgery at around 22 weeks to help sustain the pregnancy, indicating a period of medical intervention to ensure the baby’s health before birth.
Friends and followers responded warmly to the announcement. Among those congratulating the couple was television presenter Katie Piper, who wrote that she was “so happy” for them.
This addition to Roberts’s personal life marks a new chapter for the singer, who has remained in the public eye since the height of Girls Aloud’s success. The announcement also highlights the private nature of Roberts’s journey into motherhood, as she chose to share the news after the baby’s arrival rather than during the pregnancy.
