Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner maintains confidence that his team will improve their position in the league despite an ongoing struggle to score goals at home. The club’s goalless streak at the City Ground has now extended to five months, covering eight hours and 26 minutes of league and cup matches since their last home goal at the end of last season.

Glasner acknowledged the difficulty of the current period but emphasized that the lack of goals is not his primary concern as long as the team continues to create scoring opportunities. “If we don't score at home or away, I'm only really concerned if we don't create situations where we can score,” he said. “It feels unfair right now, but I don’t want to complain or play the victim because the only ones who can change it are us.”

Speaking on the anniversary of former manager Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal—the second of four permanent head coaches Forest employed last season—Glasner remained resolute despite the team's position near the bottom of the table. “There is no doubt in what we're doing because it’s just proven right so often,” he said. “I'm really confident that we will go there where we want to be. We are not there yet today, but we will be there.”

Forest’s recent league defeat came courtesy of a late deflected goal from England winger Noni Madueke, who secured the winning strike for his side. Mikel Arteta, Madueke’s manager, praised the winger’s character and influence within the team following the goal, his first league score this campaign.

“He’s a special character, someone very much loved in and around the dressing room, the way he connects and talks to people,” Arteta said. “I saw an interview where a few of our players were asked who they would call if they had a problem, and some named Noni, which surprised me. But it’s a massive credit and explains the kind of person he is.”

Arteta also highlighted Madueke’s recent display of intensity and determination, which he believes has elevated him since the season break. “He’s showing another level of anger, another level of conviction in his actions, which is what we expect from a player,” he added.

For now, Nottingham Forest face the challenge of breaking their home scoring drought while striving to climb out of the relegation zone under Glasner’s leadership. The manager remains confident the club possesses the character and resilience necessary to reverse their fortunes.
