A new dining option has opened in Dhahran’s Al-Turki Business Park area, introducing a contemporary Mediterranean menu in a striking glass-wrapped venue. The restaurant, named Glasshouse, officially launched in late October and has quickly become a lively spot despite ongoing regional tensions.
Located within the business park’s landmark building, identifiable by its distinctive two-tone green glass exterior, Glasshouse offers a blend of modern design and an inviting atmosphere. Visitors enter through a discreet side entrance, encountering a setting reminiscent of a speakeasy with subdued lighting and a warm ambiance where background music complements the din of conversation.
The menu features a variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Among the highlighted items is a strawberry mocktail priced at SR45 (approximately $12), which combines a smooth strawberry juice base with notes of basil, orange blossom, and fennel. Another notable dish is the roasted beetroot salad at SR60, featuring chunky beetroot pieces dressed in Santorini vinegar and garnished with fresh dill and a rich goat cheese mousse. The dish’s presentation on a clear glass plate results in a striking fuchsia effect as the beetroot juices color the surface.
Glasshouse’s emergence in Dhahran adds to the city’s growing culinary scene, offering residents and visitors a refined yet relaxed environment for dining. The restaurant’s early activity levels suggest a positive reception despite the broader challenges facing the region.
