Hockey Canada appointed him vice-president of hockey operations and men’s national team coach in June 2025.

While continuing his responsibilities with Hockey Canada, Donskov will support the Oilers on select days at home each month. He is slated to lead Canada’s men’s teams at the upcoming World Championship and World Junior Championship in 2027.
