A new taproom for Beartown Brewery and an Italian restaurant are among the latest additions planned for Stoke-on-Trent’s Goods Yard development. The brewery’s new bar, café, and taproom will occupy the ground floor of the site’s former signal box, while the Italian restaurant will be located on the first floor, though the operator has not yet been announced.

Capital&Centric, the developer behind Goods Yard, has invested approximately £63 million into the project. Tim Heatley, co-founder of Capital&Centric, described the development as a growing community, noting that hundreds of residents already live on the site. He emphasized the company’s commitment to revitalizing vacant buildings and creating desirable social spaces within Stoke. “Turning an old signal box into somewhere for coffee, burgers and beers is exactly the sort of thing we love doing,” Heatley said. He also highlighted ongoing plans for further expansion at Goods Yard and at another nearby site, Spode Works.

The Goods Yard Tap, operated by Beartown Brewery, is scheduled to open in October. Joe Manning, managing director of Beartown Brewery, expressed enthusiasm about becoming part of the Stoke community. He described the development as “seriously cool” and said the signal box presented an ideal location to showcase the brewery’s offerings. Manning added that the taproom would feature a selection of Beartown beers along with casual dining options, including burgers, in a relaxed setting. He also noted broader positive momentum in Stoke and across Staffordshire and said the brewery aimed to play a significant role in the local area's future growth.

The introduction of these new food and beverage venues is expected to enhance the appeal of Goods Yard, which combines residential, commercial, and leisure spaces as part of a broader urban regeneration effort in Stoke-on-Trent.
