Poole solidified their lead at the top of the Southern League Premier South with a decisive 4-1 victory over Chippenham at the latter’s home ground on Sunday. This result marked Poole’s ninth win in their last twelve matches, underlining their strong form this season.

The visiting team capitalized on multiple defensive errors by Chippenham throughout the match. The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when a mistake from the hosts allowed Antoni Diaz to seize possession and assist Brandon Goodship for the opening goal. Poole doubled their lead just before halftime after Ezio Touray intercepted the ball from a Chippenham defender and calmly finished past goalkeeper Harvey Rees.

Chippenham’s hopes of mounting a comeback diminished 11 minutes into the second half when Goodship set up Selim Saied, who extended Poole’s advantage with a well-placed finish. Goodship added a fourth goal in the 71st minute by converting a penalty, completing his personal brace.

Chippenham managed a late consolation goal through Luke Haines, who delivered a high-quality strike from distance, briefly brightening the home side’s performance. Despite this, the hosts remained rooted at the bottom of the league standings, unable to contain Poole’s clinical attack.

The victory reinforced Poole’s strong campaign and further distanced them from their rivals in the Southern League Premier South.
