Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the S1, a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic McLaren F1 supercar originally designed by Gordon Murray in the 1990s. This latest model is produced by the company’s Special Vehicles division and will be restricted to a limited run of just 64 units.

The S1 builds on the foundation of the S1 LM, a previous limited-edition model, but introduces a more touring-oriented design. It retains a variant of the LM’s chassis, modified to enhance comfort for longer journeys. Unlike the S1 LM, the new S1 forgoes prominent aerodynamic elements such as the rear wing, front splitter, and side skirts. This results in a cleaner, more streamlined appearance.

In addition to the revised bodywork, the S1 features redesigned headlights. These incorporate integrated running lights arranged in a configuration reminiscent of the original McLaren F1, maintaining a connection to the car’s heritage.

Specific pricing details and the availability of the S1 in the United Kingdom have yet to be announced. The model continues Gordon Murray Automotive’s tradition of producing high-performance, exclusive supercars that blend cutting-edge technology with automotive history.
