The match, played in wet and windy conditions, saw the hosts establish early dominance, though an initial goal was ruled out for offside within the first ten minutes.

Gosport began strongly, with Jordan Ngalo testing the Malvern goalkeeper Louis Brady with an angled effort that narrowly missed the target.
