The Ministry of Civil Aviation has assured Parliament that the investigation into the recent Air India Boeing Dreamliner crash at Ahmedabad airport is proceeding without delay and in accordance with established procedures. In a written response to a question raised in the Rajya Sabha, the ministry emphasized that the timeline for completing the inquiry cannot be predetermined due to the complex nature of major aviation accident investigations.
According to the ministry, such investigations involve multiple variables and factors, making it difficult to specify when the final report will be ready. The probe is being conducted thoroughly, with all probable causes and contributing factors under consideration to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the incident.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Ministry disclosed that the complete Thrust Control Module from the aircraft is currently being inspected at the original equipment manufacturer’s facility. This step is critical in the technical examination to determine any mechanical or system-related issues that might have contributed to the crash.
