Grantham Town was eliminated from the FA Trophy following a 3-1 defeat against Mickleover. The match, played on Saturday, saw Mickleover take an early advantage despite initial pressure from the home side.

In the opening stages, Grantham's Alex Roberts tested the Mickleover goalkeeper Jack McDowell, whose early save denied a scoring chance. However, Mickleover broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when Kane Richards lofted a chip over Grantham’s keeper Jack Steggles. Shortly afterward, McDowell produced a key save to deny Lee Shaw, but Mickleover extended their lead six minutes later through Manni Norkett.

The second half was a more cautious affair, with few clear opportunities for either side as both teams appeared to prioritize defense. Mickleover then increased their lead to 3-0 courtesy of a goal from Yerim Zoko. Grantham’s task became more difficult when Harry Wood received a red card, reducing his side to ten men.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Grantham managed to pull a goal back late in the match. Louis Czerwak was fouled inside the penalty area, allowing Andy Wright to convert the resulting spot-kick and provide a consolation score for the hosts. Nevertheless, Mickleover held on to secure their progression at Grantham’s expense.
