Manchester City are preparing to intensify their pursuit of Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as they seek to enhance their attacking options ahead of the ongoing transfer window. The 26-year-old has been a key figure for Everton since his move from Marseille in 2024, starting both of the club’s league matches this season.
Everton manager David Moyes has publicly stated that it would take a bid “absolutely outrageous” to part with Ndiaye this summer, emphasizing the player’s importance to the squad. However, Ndiaye has reportedly declined several contract extension offers from Everton amid disagreements over a release clause, leaving the club’s position uncertain.
The interest from Manchester City coincides with Everton’s efforts under head coach Enzo Maresca to rebuild their forward line following recent departures. Sávio and Omar Marmoush both transferred to Tottenham Hotspur, with Marmoush’s deal structured as a loan with an obligation to buy for up to £60 million.
One potential development involves England international Jack Grealish, who could be used as part of negotiations between Manchester City and Everton for Ndiaye. Grealish, 30, spent last season on loan at Everton, making 18 league appearances before a foot injury in January sidelined him. He remained at the club for rehabilitation, with Everton covering approximately £12 million of his wages during that period. The prospect of another loan deal for Grealish, potentially made permanent when his City contract expires, is reportedly preferable for Everton.
Aston Villa are also eyeing Grealish’s services; however, Premier League regulations limit them to two loan players, and they have already registered Alejandro Garnacho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan. Therefore, any Villa move for Grealish would likely require a permanent transfer.
Meanwhile, Villa are nearing a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea for a fee that could total £65 million. Jackson is expected to replace Ollie Watkins, who is leaving for Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, James Ward-Prowse is reportedly close to returning to Southampton from West Ham United. Ward-Prowse joined West Ham for £30 million last year but seems set to move back to his former club.
Nottingham Forest are pursuing a transfer for Crystal Palace wingback Daniel Muñoz. Forest head coach Oliver Glasner is keen to reunite with the 30-year-old defender, who has impressed since arriving from Genk in January 2024. Muñoz represents the last identified area for strengthening in Forest’s squad this summer.
