Galaxy Patch is set to return to the track this Sunday in the Group Three Celebration Cup over 1,400 meters at Sha Tin Racecourse. The Brett Crawford-trained horse recently showcased a strong performance during a trial at Happy Valley last Saturday, where he sprinted powerfully along the inside under jockey Karis Teetan to finish a close second.

A notable competitor, Galaxy Patch previously achieved a Group One placing for trainer Pierre Ng Pang-chi before transferring to Crawford’s stable. Since the change, the gelding has made one competitive start, narrowly missing victory behind Little Paradise in the Group Three Premier Cup, also contested over 1,400 meters, in June.

The Celebration Cup marks Galaxy Patch’s seasonal reappearance, with expectations high given his consistent form at the Group level. As a proven performer in such company, the horse’s connections will be hoping to capitalize on his demonstrated speed and tactical versatility. The race attracts a strong field, making it a key event in the Hong Kong racing calendar as the season builds momentum.
