KUWAIT CITY — The Grievances Committee has requested the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) to submit documents and information related to two ongoing grievances concerning electricity substation tenders.
The first grievance involves a company’s objection to the tender for supplying and installing three main substations rated at 132/11 kV for a cloud data center project. This includes associated feeders and accessories at multiple locations across Kuwait. The second grievance pertains to another company’s challenge to the tender for the supply and installation of a single main substation in Al-Matahin, also rated at 132/11 kV – B, along with its feeder and related equipment.
The committee is currently reviewing both complaints and has instructed CAPT to suspend all related procedures until a final decision is reached. CAPT confirmed during a meeting held last Wednesday that it has provided the committee with all requested documents and has notified the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to halt any progression concerning the tenders involved.
Separately, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is awaiting approval from the State Audit Bureau (SAB) for the second phase of the Doha Reverse Osmosis Water Production Plant project. The project’s estimated cost is KD114.28 million.
