A group of guide dogs named after songs by Taylor Swift have begun graduating from their training programs. The first to qualify is Archer, a golden retriever and Labrador cross named after Swift’s track "The Archer." Archer is now living with a guide dog owner in Kent, marking a milestone for his litter of 10 puppies.
Another dog from the same litter, Peter, named after a song from Swift’s album *The Tortured Poets Department*, is already working in Sheffield. Several others, including Betty—named after a song from the album *Folklore*—are still undergoing training.
The guide dogs were named by a charity organization in an initiative aimed at encouraging Taylor Swift fans, often called Swifties, to get involved as puppy raisers. The program’s organizers hope the connection to the popular singer will boost volunteer recruitment and raise awareness about the importance of guide dogs for people with visual impairments.
Guide dogs undergo extensive training before they are matched with individuals in need of their assistance. The naming campaign seeks to add an element of cultural engagement while supporting the practical goal of increasing the number of trained guide dogs available across the UK.
