Gulf Bank has announced the winners of its third Gulf Bank Challenge as preparations advance for the Gulf Bank 642 Marathon, scheduled for November 30 in Kuwait. The Challenge selected 10 participants from 260 applicants, representing a diverse range of ages, fitness levels, and running experiences. The youngest participant is 20 years old. Their goals vary from completing their first 5K to preparing for longer distances or returning to running after a break, reflecting broad community engagement in promoting healthier lifestyles.

Over the next six weeks, these participants will undergo a comprehensive training and nutrition program. This includes coaching from Mohammed AlHathal, access to Platinum Gym memberships, sportswear and equipment provided by Intersport, and nutritional support from Numo. The collaborative initiative aims to foster sustainable healthy habits that will extend beyond the marathon itself.

Najla Aleisa, Chief Marketing Officer at Gulf Bank, highlighted that the Challenge drew many inspiring stories centered on prioritizing health and rediscovering physical capabilities. She emphasized the Bank’s commitment to supporting lifestyle changes, especially among younger generations, by creating opportunities that encourage active participation. The event is designed to motivate not only the selected participants but also the wider community to engage in physical activity.

The Gulf Bank 642 Marathon offers multiple race categories to accommodate different interests and fitness levels, including a 5K walk or run, a 10K run, a 21K half marathon, and a 42K full marathon. Registration remains open, welcoming athletes of all experience levels, from seasoned runners to first-timers and walkers. Aleisa noted that the inclusive spirit of the marathon fosters encouragement and camaraderie among participants.

Supporting the event, Suffix, represented by Chief Operations Officer Ahmed Al-Majed, described the Gulf Bank Challenge as a unique initiative that promotes wider community involvement and a healthier lifestyle. Platinum’s Group Marketing and PR Director Ali AlBaghli underscored the importance of a tailored and motivating training environment, while Saad Almuaili, Assistant Manager Corporate Marketing at Intersport, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing participants with quality sportswear and equipment to sustain their fitness journey.

Hamad Baqer, Business Development Manager at Numo, highlighted the role of balanced nutrition in enhancing physical performance and helping participants develop long-lasting healthy eating habits. The combined efforts of all partners underline the event’s alignment with broader health and well-being objectives, including those outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and partnerships.

Together, the Gulf Bank Challenge and the 642 Marathon seek to connect individual ambition with community participation, encouraging more people in Kuwait to adopt active and healthier lifestyles. Further details and registration are available online at the event’s official website.
