Gunfire was directed at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto early Monday, marking the second such incident at the location this year, according to Toronto police. Although no injuries were reported, investigators found a single shell casing and noted damage to the building’s exterior.

Deputy Chief Frank Barredo of the Toronto Police Service reported that a high-speed chase followed the shooting and lasted approximately one hour. Despite the pursuit, no suspects were apprehended in connection with Monday’s incident.

This event follows an earlier shooting at the U.S. Consulate on March 10. In that case, authorities arrested two individuals: Sheldon Tracy-Stewart, 18, and Zara Jabbi, 19. Both face multiple charges related to the March shooting; however, those charges have not yet been adjudicated in court.

The motivations behind the recent attack and the previous incident have not been publicly disclosed. Investigations remain ongoing as law enforcement officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the Wednesday morning shooting.
