A gunman fatally shot a kindergarten teacher on Wednesday inside a school building in eastern Thailand, authorities reported. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. at the Nongplalai Municipal Kindergarten in Chonburi province, approximately 150 kilometers southeast of Bangkok.

According to the Chonburi provincial government, 44 children and three other teachers were safely evacuated from the premises without injury following the shooting. The suspect, believed to be the victim’s husband, fled the scene after the attack. Police later surrounded the suspect’s residence in the area as part of their response.

Local media identified the shooter as a police officer assigned to the nearby Bang Lamung station. The Chonburi Provincial Police Office confirmed the case remains under active investigation, with authorities working to establish the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
