Halesowen Town have appointed Paul Holleran as interim manager following the mutual departure of Russ Penn. The change was confirmed after the club suffered a 5-1 defeat to Racing Club Warwick in a Southern League Premier Central fixture earlier this week.
Penn, who has been in charge at Halesowen since 2024, previously managed Kidderminster Harriers, leading them to promotion and an FA Cup fourth-round appearance. During his tenure with Halesowen, the team secured consecutive play-off qualifications but were eliminated in the semi-finals on both occasions.
Holleran, who served as Penn’s assistant and brings experience from his former role managing Leamington, has stepped up to take temporary charge of the squad. The club issued a statement acknowledging Penn’s contributions, expressing gratitude for his hard work, dedication, and commitment.
The management change comes as Halesowen look to stabilize their campaign in the Southern League Premier Central following a challenging start to the season. Details regarding a permanent managerial appointment have not yet been announced.
