His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a decree appointing the leadership of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) board. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, will serve as chairman of the board.
Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, has been named vice-chairman. The board’s members include Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, and Helal Saeed Al Marri, according to an official statement from the Dubai Media Office.
Established in 2006, the ICD functions as the principal investment arm of the Government of Dubai, managing a diversified portfolio of investments both domestically and internationally. The corporation’s holdings span multiple sectors, playing a significant role in Dubai’s broader economic and investment framework.
The ICD’s responsibilities include managing and consolidating the government’s investments while providing strategic and financial oversight to ensure optimal performance. The corporation holds stakes in a number of prominent companies and strategic assets across key industries such as banking, aviation, hospitality, real estate, transport, utilities, and financial services.
Notable investments under the ICD’s portfolio include the Emirates Group, Emirates NBD, Enoc (Emirates National Oil Company), and One Za’abeel, among others. Through its management of these assets, the Investment Corporation of Dubai continues to be a central element in supporting Dubai’s economic development and diversification objectives.
