Haringey Borough secured a narrow victory against league leaders Didcot Town in a closely contested match on Saturday. The game, held at Haringey’s home ground, featured early dominance from the hosts, who took the lead within the opening minutes of the first half.
The initial breakthrough came when Leo Pola unleashed a volley from the edge of the penalty area that appeared to be off target. However, Ali Njie outjumped the defenders to head the ball into the net, giving Haringey an early advantage. The hosts extended their lead later in the half after Pola successfully dribbled past a Didcot fullback and delivered a precise pass to Sami Bessadi, who calmly finished into the bottom right corner.
Didcot responded in the second half by increasing their attacking pressure, gradually regaining momentum. Their persistence was rewarded when Kai Bartolo capitalized on a defensive lapse by Haringey, intercepting the ball and finishing past the goalkeeper to reduce the deficit.
Despite sustained efforts and multiple chances to equalize, Didcot was unable to break through Haringey’s defense before the final whistle. The 2-1 result sees Haringey claim an important win over the table-topping side, while Didcot remains frustrated by missed opportunities to secure at least a draw.
