Padraig Harrington secured his third US Senior Open title on Sunday with a commanding performance at Scioto Country Club in Ohio. The Irish golfer, who entered the final round holding a one-shot lead, extended his advantage to win by four strokes over runner-up Stewart Cink.

With this victory, Harrington joined Miller Barber as the only players to have won the US Senior Open three times. He previously claimed the title in 2022 and 2025, and Sunday’s win marked his fourth senior major championship overall, having also captured the Senior Open in 2025.

Harrington, a three-time major champion on the regular tour including two Open Championship titles and a PGA Championship, earned $800,000 for his latest triumph. Reflecting on his performance, he acknowledged the lack of dramatic moments often seen in major tournaments but emphasized his focus throughout the final round. “It feels great,” Harrington said. “I was really trying to stay in it, stay focused.” He credited his tactical approach of aiming for safer shots and playing to the middle of the greens, which allowed him to maintain control and reduce pressure down the stretch.

Finishing four shots behind Cink was Stewart Cink, who delivered a strong effort but was unable to close the gap. Ian Poulter placed fourth, seven strokes behind the winner, rounding out a competitive leaderboard at the 36th edition of the US Senior Open.

The event at Scioto Country Club showcased Harrington’s consistency and skill in the senior ranks, underscoring his status as one of the premier players on the senior circuit.
