Harry Kane has agreed to extend his contract with Bayern Munich until June 2029, securing his stay at the German club for another three years. The England captain, 33, was initially linked with interest from Barcelona but has chosen to remain at Bayern Munich, where he moved from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. Kane's current deal, paying approximately £400,000 to £415,000 per week, was set to expire at the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Discussions for the extension began after Kane’s return to Munich following the recent World Cup. Reports indicate that Kane initially sought a contract lasting until 2030, aiming to maintain peak performance through the tournament, which could mark his final major international appearance. However, Bayern Munich preferred a commitment until 2029, and both parties ultimately agreed on that timeline with a continuation of his current weekly salary, amounting to roughly £21.1 million annually.

Since joining Bayern, Kane has delivered impressive performances, contributing significantly to the club’s back-to-back Bundesliga titles. Over his tenure, he has accumulated nearly 154 goals in 156 appearances across all competitions, including recent contributions in the Champions League. His form has also bolstered his individual reputation, with Kane considered among the contenders for the Ballon d’Or this year.

Off the pitch, Kane has expressed contentment with life in Munich, noting that he feels comfortable within the club environment, the coaching staff, and the city itself. He has also matched the England record for international appearances previously held by Peter Shilton, achieving 125 caps.

Looking ahead, Kane has indicated aspirations to eventually move to Major League Soccer (MLS) and has even mentioned a potential interest in pursuing a side career as an NFL kicker after his playing days conclude. For now, his focus remains on maintaining his high level of performance with Bayern Munich until at least mid-2029.
