Harry Styles set a new world record for the longest single-run residency by a musician at Wembley Stadium during the weekend, concluding the final show of his Together, Together tour. The 32-year-old performer began the London residency on June 12 and completed 12 shows, surpassing the previous record of 10 concerts held by Coldplay last year.
During his closing performance in front of 80,000 fans, Styles took a moment to acknowledge the role his former One Direction bandmates played in his career. He expressed gratitude toward Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne, referring to their friendship and influence as central to his journey. “I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” Styles said, highlighting the importance of their support and the lessons he learned.
Reflecting on his connection to Wembley, Styles spoke about his early career milestone linked to the venue. He recalled that 16 years earlier, just outside Wembley Stadium, he was placed into One Direction during the filming of The X Factor, a competition that launched his and his bandmates’ careers. “Every time I have the privilege of returning to Wembley it means an incredibly great deal to me,” he remarked.
The new record at Wembley also marks the most concerts performed by a solo artist during a single run at the stadium, surpassing Taylor Swift’s eight-night record set in 2024. Following his London performances, Styles plans to continue his tour with scheduled concerts in São Paulo, Mexico City, New York City, and Melbourne, culminating in a final show in Sydney on December 13.
Styles rose to prominence as a member of One Direction, alongside Horan, Payne, Malik, and Tomlinson, after the group was formed on the ITV singing competition The X Factor in 2010. The group took a hiatus in 2016 following Malik’s departure nearly a year earlier, at which point Styles embarked on a solo career. Since then, he has earned global recognition and accolades, including multiple Grammy and Brit awards. Notably, Liam Payne passed away in 2024 at age 31 after an accidental fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
