Hashtag United opened their season with a convincing victory over Sudbury in an away match. The contest featured several notable moments as both sides sought to establish early dominance.

Sudbury began with intent, nearly taking the lead inside the opening minutes when a header struck the post. Around the 30-minute mark, Reuben Chinney presented one of Sudbury’s best opportunities, only to be denied by Hashtag United goalkeeper Joe Whitney. Despite Sudbury’s efforts, it was Hashtag United who broke the deadlock just before halftime, with Praise Ogbebor scoring to put the visitors ahead.

The second half saw a continuation of the first half’s pattern, with Hashtag United controlling much of the ball possession and creating chances while relying on a resolute defense to repel Sudbury’s attacks. Sudbury’s Chinney remained a threat, and in the 69th minute he once again attempted to score after a nimble run, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Hashtag United extended their lead in the 74th minute, as Ellis Devereux doubled the advantage. The visitors sealed the victory late on when Matt Wooldridge added a third goal. Sudbury finished the match with ten men after Ross Wall was sent off for a verbal outburst.
