Hayes & Yeading United secured a 3-2 victory over Kingstonian at SKYex Stadium on Saturday, overcoming a second-half rally by their visitors.
The home side started strongly, with striker Dernell Wynter opening the scoring within the opening minute. Wynter doubled the lead midway through the first half after intercepting a defender and firing a precise shot past Kingstonian goalkeeper Zaki Oualah. Just before halftime, Kingstonian capitalised on a defensive error when Oualah failed to clear a cross, allowing Kaylen Hinds to score and reduce the deficit to 2-1.
Kingstonian responded quickly after the interval, with Stan Flaherty levelling the match early in the second half. The visitors continued to press, and with about 15 minutes remaining, Sam Evans put Kingstonian ahead by driving the ball past Hayes & Yeading goalkeeper Rhys Forster.
Despite the late lead, Kingstonian was unable to maintain their advantage. Hayes & Yeading held firm through six minutes of additional time, preventing any further scoring and ensuring they claimed all three points.
The result marked an important win for Hayes & Yeading United as they fended off a resilient Kingstonian side that pushed hard for a comeback late in the game.
