Hayes & Yeading United manager Jamie Tompkins has intensified preparations for the upcoming season by securing eight new signings while retaining several key players from last year’s squad. Since taking charge in December, Tompkins has been shaping his team with ambitions to challenge for promotion in the Isthmian South Central Division.
Tompkins, who previously managed Ascot United, guided Hayes & Yeading to a ninth-place finish last season. Now focused on assembling a competitive squad, he has recruited talent primarily from local clubs within the region. Notable acquisitions include winger Dernell Wynter, who joined from divisional rivals Harrow Borough. Wynter earned the Golden Boot and Goal of the Season awards at Earlsmead, scoring 20 goals in 33 appearances.
The club also added striker Joe Waight and winger Gianni Crichlow from Hanwell Town, strengthening attacking options. Defensive reinforcements come in the form of Kai Hobbs and KJ Osu from Uxbridge, along with centre-back Sean Basaye of Burnham. Hayes & Yeading further bolstered their roster by signing defender Kyle Daniel-Spray and forward Amari Fashanu, both from Binfield.
In addition to new arrivals, Tompkins has overseen the retention of several established first-team players. Goalkeeper Rhys Forster is among those confirmed to remain, alongside Louis Rogers, Kaylen Hinds, Ben Purcell, Harry Grant, Amos Nasha, Jack McKnight, and Brendan Matthew.
The combination of fresh talent and experienced squad members reflects Tompkins’ strategy to build a balanced team capable of mounting a strong promotion challenge in the upcoming campaign. The club’s transfer activity signals their intent to improve on last season’s mid-table finish as they prepare for the new Isthmian South Central Division season.
