The yellow Reliant Regal Supervan III prominently featured in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses is expected to sell for approximately £40,000 at an upcoming auction. This three-wheeled vehicle, famously branded with "Trotters Independent Trading Co" on its side, was used throughout the first two series of the show, which aired between 1981 and 1982.

The 1972 van is one of six Reliant Supervan IIIs originally purchased by the BBC for the production. However, it stands out as the only one to appear in all 13 episodes during those initial series, including the very first installment. The van has been fully restored to reflect its original appearance from the show.

With a top speed of 55 miles per hour, the vehicle has reportedly covered 97,000 miles over its lifetime. It is now being sold by a private collector at the Iconic Auctioneers’ Classic Sale, scheduled to take place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on November 15.

Gary Dunne, sales manager at Iconic Auctioneers, emphasized the van’s iconic status, noting its immediate recognizability and its significance to the earliest years of Only Fools and Horses. The vehicle’s close association with the beloved British sitcom makes it a particularly notable collectible for fans and classic vehicle enthusiasts alike.
