Stephen Graham has been cast to replace Robert DeNiro in the upcoming sequel to the 1995 crime thriller "Heat." Graham will take on the role of Neil McCauley, the professional thief originally portrayed by DeNiro in the film directed by Michael Mann.
In addition to Graham's casting, Christian Bale will assume the role of Vincent Hanna, the dedicated police detective initially played by Al Pacino. Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Chris Shiherlis, a character originally brought to life by the late Val Kilmer.
Director Michael Mann revealed that the sequel’s storyline will begin one day after the events of the original film, with a key plot point being that Chris Shiherlis survives and is compelled to flee the United States. Further details about the production timeline or release date have yet to be announced.
