In Chicago’s South Side, 57-year-old Mike Rodriguez died from heat stroke in his poorly ventilated attic apartment, where neighbors reported his condition deteriorated rapidly. In a small town south of Philadelphia, a 68-year-old man died at home after collapsing post yard work, with his death attributed to a heart attack triggered by heat exhaustion.

Officials confirmed that the extreme temperatures placed significant strain on vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly and those with limited access to air conditioning or medical intervention.
