Crystal Palace captain Dean Henderson has committed his future to the club by signing a long-term contract that extends his stay at Selhurst Park until 2030. Despite missing the team’s Europa League group stage opener against Polish side Lech Poznan due to an ongoing ankle injury, Henderson expressed strong dedication to the club and confidence in his contributions moving forward.

Henderson, the England international goalkeeper, played a significant role in Crystal Palace’s recent successes in the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League, achievements he described as unforgettable highlights of his career. Reflecting on his leadership role, he emphasized the honor of wearing the captain’s armband and his deep connection with the club and its supporters. “There was nowhere else. I am proud to be one of you. My best years are in front of me and I’m happy to be giving that to Crystal Palace,” he said.

Palace manager Pierre Sage praised Henderson’s abilities on and off the pitch, highlighting both his goalkeeping skills and his leadership qualities. “As a player, he is a really good goalkeeper, and as a man, he has good leadership,” Sage said. “He is positive and is always with his team-mates.”

In addition to Henderson’s absence, Sage indicated that winger Ismaila Sarr might feature for the first time following the breakdown of his proposed transfer to Liverpool. The club’s Europa League debut against Lech Poznan marks an important step in their European campaign, and Crystal Palace will be looking to build on the momentum of their recent domestic and continental success despite some key absences.
