Hendon emerged victorious in an intense seven-goal match, securing a 4-3 win against their opponents. The game began at a fast pace with Rob Malila putting the Golds ahead just two minutes in. However, Hendon responded quickly through Sam Shaban, who headed in the equalizer before adding a lobbed finish 12 minutes later to give the Greens the lead.
Scott Faber leveled the score again in the 35th minute, setting the stage for a closely contested encounter. Shaban continued to influence the game significantly, completing his hat-trick early in the second half with a close-range toe-poke in the 53rd minute.
The Golds had a chance to regain parity shortly after, earning a penalty, but Hendon’s goalkeeper Josh Strizovic made a crucial save. Nonetheless, George Gaskin managed to find the net to bring the scoreline to 4-3.
A tight finish saw Hendon hold on to their slender advantage, with Shaban scoring the decisive goal in the final five minutes, deftly firing past Billy Collings. Shaban’s significant contribution earned him star-man recognition for his three-goal haul in the victory.
