Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd has appointed Erkki Tapio Ranta as its new chief executive officer, effective October 1. The company announced the leadership change following the conclusion of Luke Yin Lujiang’s contract. Yin, 55, ceased all responsibilities with Hengyuan as of October 1.

Ranta, 62, returns to the role after previously serving as Hengyuan’s CEO from March 2020 to July 2021. The Finnish national brings over 30 years of experience in the refining and oil sectors. His career began in 1990 as a plant design engineer at Air-Ix Oy in Finland, and a year later, he joined Neste Oil Oyj, where he held a range of positions over more than two decades.
