Russell Henley secured his sixth PGA Tour victory at the Charles Schwab Classic on Sunday with a dramatic finish at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. Henley birdied the final three holes to force a playoff with fellow 37-year-old Eric Cole, then extended his streak to four consecutive birdies by sinking a five-foot putt on the first extra hole to claim the title.

Henley’s closing round of 3-under-par 67 featured key putts, including a 15-footer on the 16th hole, a birdie on the par-4 17th, and a 17-footer on the 18th hole, which pushed him to 12 under par for the tournament. Cole, who was playing in the group behind Henley, carded an even-par 70 and parred his final seven holes of regulation and into the playoff. Both players finished one stroke ahead of Ben Griffin, who shot a 65 and was attempting to become only the second player after Ben Hogan to win back-to-back tournaments at Colonial. Griffin ultimately fell short, joining Alex Smalley (68) and Mac Meissner (69) as close contenders.

Henley’s victory earned him $1.78 million, along with the event’s traditional plaid jacket and a customized 1982 Jeep Scrambler. The win represents a significant milestone for Henley, extending his career total on the PGA Tour.

In other golf news, Joaquin Niemann claimed the LIV Golf Korea title by defeating Talor Gooch in a playoff. Niemann closed with a 3-under 67 and secured a birdie on the first playoff hole, marking his first victory of the season and his eighth career win in the LIV Golf league.

Additionally, Celine Boutier rallied from a four-shot deficit to capture the ShopRite LPGA Championship. Boutier’s late surge included three birdies around the turn and a final round 5-under 66, edging out Arpichaya Yubol by one stroke to take the victory.
