In Oman, a henna artist has gained widespread attention on social media for her intricate and realistic depictions of football stars, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Kylian Mbappé. Faseela Shoukkath, a housewife based in Oman, began creating henna designs as a hobby inspired by her children’s enthusiasm for football and her early exposure to henna art through her mother.

Faseela developed her skills independently, combining traditional henna techniques with influences from Arabic calligraphy, a form of art she also practices with passion. She explains that her pursuit began as a way to connect with her children, all ardent football fans, while also honoring her family’s artistic heritage. Over time, her work has evolved from casual sketches to detailed portraits that have captivated both local and expatriate communities.

Her talent has been recognized in numerous competitions throughout Oman, where she has consistently earned awards for both henna artistry and calligraphy. Faseela now works as a freelance artist, offering her designs to a diverse clientele within the country. Her work has reached people of various nationalities who appreciate the cultural and artistic fusion that her henna creations represent.

Faseela credits her husband, Shaukat Ali—a vegetable businessman originally from Kerala, India—and her five children for their ongoing support. Her children, Muhammad Shahal, Aisha Ziya, Irvin Mohammad, Yezid Mohammad, and Hyzin Mohammad, have played a significant role in encouraging her artistic endeavors.

Despite managing a busy household, Faseela emphasizes the importance of passion in overcoming challenges, noting that genuine interest can help find time for creative pursuits. Her story underlines how dedication and family support can enable individuals to turn a personal interest into a celebrated artistic vocation.
