October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when various retail brands across the United Kingdom step up efforts to support breast cancer charities and raise public awareness about the disease, which affects one in seven women over their lifetime.
Primark has committed to donating over £1 million to cancer-related charities this year, aiming to raise an additional £1 million through in-store fundraising activities worldwide. Until October 25, customers can contribute at till points in all stores. Alongside fundraising, Primark has launched a special collection of post-surgery products, including bras and breast pockets, as well as an Everyday Essentials range that blends lounge-wear, nightwear, and activewear. The collection aims to be accessible, with prices starting at £1.50, and all proceeds will go directly to Breast Cancer Now.
Supermarket chain Asda is celebrating three decades of its Tickled Pink charity partnership. The campaign will feature fundraising in stores supported by the sale of more than 200 pink-themed products, with proceeds benefiting breast cancer charities. To mark the 30-year milestone, Asda has collaborated with singer Kylie Minogue to release a limited-edition 0.0% sparkling rosé priced at £5 and an exclusive pink glitterball t-shirt for £10. A portion of the profits from these items will be split between Breast Cancer Now and the breast cancer awareness group CoppaFeel!.
Marks & Spencer has sustained a year-round partnership with Breast Cancer Now, contributing approximately £100,000 annually through purchases of its post-surgery bras. The retailer offers a dedicated range that includes both wired and non-wired bras, post-surgery breast forms, and breast pockets. Additional support features in-store fitting rooms equipped with permanent breast-checking awareness signage and QR codes linking to educational resources from Breast Cancer Now. M&S loyalty program members can also choose Breast Cancer Now as their preferred charity for Sparks card donations.
Outdoor clothing brand Dryrobe has introduced a breast cancer awareness edition of its popular changing robe in hot pink, created in collaboration with Breast Cancer Now. For every Dryrobe Advance sold in this color, the company will donate £25 to the charity, with that amount automatically deducted from the customer’s purchase price. The product is available in sizes for women, men, and children, designed to provide warmth and coverage in outdoor conditions.
Lingerie retailer Bravissimo continues its partnership with CoppaFeel!, having raised £40,000 so far. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the brand is donating 10% of sales from two popular bra styles—the Shoulder Ease Bra in dusky pink and the Lillie Bra—to the charity. Bravissimo is also publishing educational content to promote breast self-checking during the month.
Together, these initiatives by high street and specialty brands reflect ongoing commitment to supporting breast cancer charities through fundraising, product innovation, and public education throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond.
