Folkestone Invicta ended a seven-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over AFC Totton in a Southern League Premier Division South match on Saturday. The home side had not played at their venue for five weeks prior to the fixture and entered the game as one of the bottom two teams in recent form.

Invicta took control of the match before halftime, netting two goals within a four-minute span. The opening goal came in the 41st minute when Reggie Young won possession on the left flank and crossed the ball. The delivery deflected off a defender and fell to Donell Thomas, who scored after the referee, Daniel Baines, confirmed the ball had crossed the line. Just three minutes later, Young was instrumental again, assisting Bobby Kelman, who fired a fast-paced shot past goalkeeper Ryan Gosney to double the home team's advantage.

AFC Totton responded early in the second half with a goal from centre forward Will Fletcher. Harry Mills played the ball into the box toward the far post, where Fletcher managed to bundle it in, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

Totton pressed for an equalizer, with Declan Rose’s shot in the 59th minute deflecting off a teammate and hitting the post. The visitors’ attempts to secure a penalty five minutes later were unsuccessful as the referee declined their appeals for handball.

The win marked a significant morale boost for Folkestone Invicta, who had struggled for form in recent weeks. The result leaves the two teams still near the bottom of the form table but provides Invicta with a crucial three points at home.
