Kaden Honeycutt strengthened his lead in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chase with a commanding victory at Phoenix Raceway on Friday. Driving the No. 11 TRICON Garage Toyota, Honeycutt took control of the Zero Carbon Bioethanol 150 Powered by POET in the third stage, relying heavily on a flawless pit stop effort to secure his first win at Phoenix and the fourth of his career—all achieved this season.

Honeycutt led a race-high 53 laps during the final green-flag run and crossed the finish line 1.556 seconds ahead of Christian Eckes, who finished second for the third consecutive race. Layne Riggs took third place, preserving his position as Honeycutt’s closest pursuer in the championship standings. With this result, Honeycutt expanded his Chase lead to 39 points over Riggs.

After the final pit stops during the Stage 2 break, Honeycutt emerged second and overtook Stewart Friesen, who briefly held the lead after opting for two tires on the stop. The 23-year-old from Willow Park, Texas, took the lead on Lap 99 and maintained it through the remaining laps. Crew chief Scott Zipadelli notched his 39th career Truck Series win, moving closer to the all-time series record held by Eric Phillips.

“My pit crew, they did a great job,” Honeycutt said. “I give them so much credit because they’re so damn good... I can’t be more grateful for them.” He acknowledged early struggles with rear grip in Stage 1 but praised his crew chief’s calm and focused guidance throughout the race.

Riggs, who started on the pole and led the first 43 laps, was passed late in the initial stage by Ty Majeski. Majeski secured his second stage win of the season, sweeping both stages and leading 49 laps before finishing fourth. Riggs was able to retake third place on Lap 104 but was unable to mount a challenge for the lead.

“We’ve got a really good package for Phoenix, but it just wasn’t our night,” Riggs said. “We’re running up front every race, so I’m proud of the team’s effort.”

Eckes, driving the No. 91 McAnally-Hilgemann Racing Chevrolet, highlighted that his team continues to contend but has yet to secure a victory this season. Despite his frustrations, the runner-up finish allowed Eckes to climb to third in the standings, though he remains 112 points behind Honeycutt with three races remaining.

Additional top-five finishers included Jake Garcia, with William Sawalich, Daniel Hemric, Gio Ruggiero, Grant Enfinger, and Brent Crews rounding out the top 10. Chandler Smith, who faced a pit road penalty for too many crew members over the wall, finished 15th and slipped to fourth in points.

The race was marked by two cautions covering 16 laps, including a debris caution at Turn 1 that coincided with the Stage 2 break. The Truck Series Chase resumes next Friday at Talladega Superspeedway with the Love’s RV Stop 225, broadcast on FS1.
