Celtic manager Grant Scott has expressed his desire for midfielder Lisa Robertson to remain with the club until her retirement, praising her dedication and recent performances. Robertson returned to Celtic last summer after spending a year with Hearts and has since become a key figure in Scott’s lineup.

Robertson, who gave birth to her son Lucas in November 2023, has worked diligently to regain full match fitness. Her efforts were highlighted last weekend when she scored a 91st-minute winning goal against Partick Thistle, a rare but celebrated contribution. Scott described her form in recent months as the best he has seen, emphasizing her consistent performances.

“Lisa is one of those players who doesn’t normally grab headlines but consistently performs at a high level,” Scott said. “She is incredibly dedicated and works very hard for the team.” The manager added that Robertson’s physical condition and experience suggest she has several competitive seasons ahead.

“Given how well she has looked after herself and her return to peak fitness, I believe she could easily play for a couple more years,” he said. “I would love for her to finish her career here at Celtic.”

Meanwhile, attention turns to the Sky Sports Cup matches this weekend. Celtic are scheduled to face Spartans this afternoon. Unlike Celtic, Rangers and Hearts will enter the competition at the quarter-final stage due to their involvement in European fixtures.
