Adriana Rose Fernandez and Jordan Langer’s unlikely romance began in Greece in April 2023, during a Passover program organized by Kosher Culinary Travel near Olympia. Fernandez, who was raised Christian and worked as a nanny for Jewish families in Boca Raton, Florida, was volunteering to assist with a children’s camp and social media for the program. Langer, an Orthodox Jew from West Orange, New Jersey, attended with his family. Several months later, Fernandez embarked on a personal journey to convert to Judaism, a process she kept private while maintaining her online presence as a nanny. By March 2025, after completing her conversion, she shared the news publicly, receiving congratulations from followers and Langer among others. Fernandez, 29, who has a background in professional opera singing and holds degrees in vocal performance from Florida State University and Florida Atlantic University, had transitioned into social media work and preschool teaching alongside her nannying.
Langer, 26, works in retail leasing at Meridian Capital Group in Midtown Manhattan and holds a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Rutgers. Following Fernandez’s conversion, they reconnected, with a chance meeting in New York in early April 2025 at the Rum House piano bar, which turned into an informal date. Their relationship developed over subsequent encounters, including a notable meeting in the lobby of the TWA Hotel—a well-known spot within Orthodox Jewish matchmaking circles—which occurred during a brief layover for Fernandez.
Their relationship progressed through a series of dates across New York City, with Fernandez joining Langer’s family for Shabbat by late May 2025. In mid-June, she moved to Manhattan’s Upper East Side and shifted her career focus toward social media. They became a couple and by the end of summer 2025, Fernandez envisioned marriage, although Langer delayed proposing until she spent time in Israel that December and had the opportunity to bond with his family.
Fernandez traveled to Israel in December 2025 for six weeks while Langer surprised her there for New Year’s Eve. After returning to New York in January 2026, the couple went ring shopping and planned their engagement. Langer proposed on February 26, 2026, during a work-related visit by Fernandez to a kosher condo at the Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman. The proposal was coordinated with the assistance of the local Chabad, despite initial travel disruptions caused by a severe winter storm in New York that complicated Langer’s arrival.
The couple legally married at New York City Hall on August 20, 2026, before observing the Orthodox tradition of a week-long separation prior to a formal Jewish wedding. Their religious ceremony took place on July 31 at the Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey, officiated by Rabbi Dovi Snekmann from Yeshivat Ashreinu in Israel, with approximately 450 guests attending. The event followed traditional Jewish rituals, including the seven blessings under the chuppah, with one delivered by a boy Fernandez had cared for as a child, highlighting the couple’s intertwining personal and faith journeys. Fernandez wore a custom gown by Miri Couture, while Langer donned a Calvin Klein tuxedo and custom cufflinks from the bride.
