A 17-day expedition, known as the Grand Greenland Cruise operated by HX Expeditions, has been offering travelers the chance to engage with the island’s environment on a deeper level. Activities on the cruise have ranged from fishing to direct encounters with local wildlife, including a notable polar bear incident recorded by one participant.

Travel to and within Greenland, however, still requires careful planning and attention to travel documents. One traveler recounted an incident highlighting the importance of passport management. During a recent journey from Sydney to Denpasar, a traveler discovered her passport had been left behind in Adelaide. After realizing the situation late at night, she contacted Virgin Australia’s customer service early the next morning and arranged to return to Adelaide to retrieve the document. While this caused delays and additional fees, she was able to rejoin the group on the second night of the trip in Bali.
