Hull City has dismissed sporting director Jared Dublin following a dispute over his contract just days before the start of pre-season preparations. The club’s owner, Acun Ilicali, terminated Dublin’s contract after the American executive declined a revised offer that included an enhanced salary package and a substantial bonus contingent on the club maintaining its status in the Premier League.

Dublin, who joined Hull from Stoke City in August 2024 and was promoted to sporting director a year later, played a key role in the team’s recent success. He helped the club secure promotion by recruiting notable players such as Oli McBurnie and Joe Gelhardt during the previous season.

Hull City is reportedly set to initiate discussions with Okan Ozkan, the former coordinator of Fenerbahce, to potentially fill the sporting director position. These talks are expected to begin within the next 24 hours as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.
