Authorities continue to search for a suspect following the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man in Primrose Hill, north London, on Tuesday evening. The victim, identified as Finbar Sullivan, a videographer, was attacked amid a confrontation in the park and died at the scene despite efforts by police and paramedics to save him.

Sullivan had reportedly gone to Primrose Hill to test a new camera, marking a return to his hobby after recovering from a recent eye condition. Friends describe him as gentle and well-liked. Ellen Kinnally, a public relations professional from New York and a longtime friend of Sullivan’s father, said he often frequented the park from his nearby Maida Vale home. “He literally just went to the park to enjoy this beautiful day,” she said. “He’s very gentle, soft-spoken, polite, well-mannered, everyone loves him … He’d gotten very ill recently and everyone was so worried about him. It affected his eyesight, but he was getting better.”

The father, Chris Sullivan, is known for founding the Wag Club in London during the 1980s, a venue influential to the New Romantic music movement.

In the incident’s aftermath, a second man, believed also to be in his twenties, was discovered with stab wounds on nearby Regent’s Park Road. He was treated for injuries described by Metropolitan Police as non life-threatening and non life-changing.

Following the attack, video footage of the altercation circulated on social media, showing two men confronting one another while onlookers fled the scene. The area around Primrose Hill was cordoned off as forensic teams conducted a thorough investigation.

Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, leading the Metropolitan Police inquiry, emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation and appealed for public assistance. “Our investigation is progressing at pace and we are following several lines of inquiry. This incident occurred in a busy, public park and there may be many witnesses who can help us piece together what happened. We are aware of footage circulating on social media and urge anyone who has any information to urgently contact us,” he said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the killing as police continue their inquiries.
