Lea Seydoux, who portrayed psychologist Madeleine Swann in the James Bond films "Spectre" and "No Time to Die," expressed her views on the future direction of the franchise amid its recent acquisition by the streaming company Amazon. Speaking to a British publication, Seydoux emphasized the importance of maintaining the character’s British identity going forward.

The Paris-born actress, 41, acknowledged that with new ownership, changes to the iconic series are inevitable. “I don’t know, it will be different. I’m curious... I hope they will keep the British spirit,” Seydoux said. She highlighted the significance of the next actor chosen to succeed Daniel Craig, who concluded his tenure as 007 in 2021. Seydoux noted the necessity for the new James Bond to possess depth and complexity, traits she described as challenging to find among younger actors.

Seydoux’s comments come as the Bond franchise embarks on a new chapter under Amazon’s stewardship, raising questions about how the character and stories will evolve in the years ahead. The November issue of Elle UK, which features her interview, is scheduled for release later this week.
