Israeli military intelligence officials reported that approximately two-thirds of the militants who crossed into Israel from Gaza on October 7 have been neutralized. According to data presented by Major General Shlomi Binder, head of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Military Intelligence, during a security cabinet meeting on Sunday evening, about 4,000 of the estimated 6,000 infiltrators have been killed. Binder stated that approximately 2,000 militants remain active and pledged that the IDF would continue efforts to eliminate them.

The incursion on October 7 resulted in significant casualties and prompted an extensive Israeli military response against Hamas and other militant groups operating in Gaza. The IDF has carried out numerous targeted strikes aimed at leaders and operatives involved in the attack.

On Sunday, the military announced the killing of Saqr Nabil Musa Qaisi, a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba unit, who was reportedly masquerading as the director of a humanitarian aid organization known as Deniz Feneri. This operation was part of the ongoing effort to disrupt militant networks operating under civilian cover.

Earlier in the week, Israeli forces targeted and killed Ibrahim Mustafa Suleiman Abu Qweimer, identified as a Nukhba platoon commander within Hamas's military wing. These killings are part of what the IDF describes as systematic efforts to dismantle the leadership and operational capabilities of Hamas following the October 7 attacks.

The Israeli government has maintained a focus on thoroughly addressing the threat posed by militants who breached its border, emphasizing the need to neutralize all remaining infiltrators. The military continues to carry out operations in Gaza as part of a broader campaign to weaken Hamas and restore security in southern Israel.
