The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that more than 250 Hezbollah fighters and commanders were killed in a large-scale military operation in Lebanon last Wednesday. This figure was provided in an updated assessment released on Monday, following ongoing intelligence evaluations. The Lebanese Health Ministry earlier reported a death toll of 303 from the strikes.

The IDF operation targeted multiple locations including Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon. Israeli officials characterized the strikes as the largest against Hezbollah in recent years and said they inflicted a significant blow to the group’s command-and-control capabilities. For the first time, the IDF disclosed the names of several senior Hezbollah figures it said were among those killed. These included Hassan Mustafa Nasser, the head of Hezbollah’s logistics support headquarters; senior intelligence commanders Ali Qashem, Abu Ali Abbas, and Ali Hijazi; and Abu Muhammad Habib, deputy commander of Hezbollah’s missile unit.

Israeli military officials noted that damage assessments were still ongoing and that additional casualties could be identified as intelligence operations continue.

In response to the strikes, Hezbollah leadership called on the Lebanese government to cancel a scheduled meeting with Israeli officials in Washington that was planned for Tuesday. Despite the attacks, Hezbollah continued to launch rocket fire into Israel throughout the day.

One such rocket struck a residential home in the Israeli city of Nahariya, injuring a woman in her 60s with minor blast wounds and glass shrapnel, according to emergency services. Sirens were also sounded in the Carmel region in the mid-afternoon, indicating ongoing alerts related to the attacks.

The Israeli Air Force intercepted over 10 hostile aircraft launched from Lebanon toward Israeli territory and IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon during the morning hours, the military confirmed. The origins of the aircraft were traced to positions controlled by Hezbollah.

The situation remains tense as Israeli forces maintain heightened alertness along the northern border, and diplomatic efforts are closely watched amid continuing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
