IJM Corp Bhd has appointed Datuk Johan Idris as its new independent non-executive director and chairman, marking a key step in the company’s leadership transition. The appointment was announced following the retirement of former chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan at IJM’s annual general meeting on August 27.

Datuk Lee Teck Yuen, who temporarily served as chairman during the leadership search, has been redesignated as a non-independent non-executive director and will continue to serve on the board.

Currently, Johan chairs Maxis Bhd and KPMG Malaysia, while also serving as a director on the boards of KLCC Property Holdings Bhd and KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust.

In accepting his role as chairman, Johan expressed his commitment to maintaining strong corporate governance as IJM pursues its strategic objectives and seeks to generate long-term value for its stakeholders.
