Chinese artificial intelligence chipmaker Iluvatar CoreX has introduced a new supernode system that integrates 144 graphics processing units (GPUs) into a single cabinet, setting a new industry benchmark. The Tiangai 300 IXL144 was unveiled at the 2026 China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai and is designed to support large-scale AI model training and inference workloads.

The system combines 144 GPUs and 18 central processing units (CPUs) in one cabinet, alongside approximately 10.1 terabytes of memory. Iluvatar describes the architecture as highly flexible and emphasizes its potential to improve token processing efficiency, claiming the system can reduce the cost per one million valid tokens by 40% compared to mainstream international alternatives.

Supernode systems, which unify computing, storage, networking, management, and software into a single high-performance framework, have become a focal point amid ongoing US export restrictions limiting access to advanced Nvidia chips. Chinese companies are increasingly developing interconnected cabinet solutions to enhance computational capacity domestically.

Iluvatar’s entry into the supernode market follows recent launches by domestic competitors MetaX and Enflame, with the company seeking to capture market share in a competitive landscape. According to Iluvatar vice-president Zou Xuan, supernodes represent not just hardware products but complex system engineering efforts aimed at maximizing economic efficiency.

The company also highlighted that its Tiangai chip series has been deployed at a scale involving 10,000 cards, providing valuable experience in system-level delivery and operational maintenance. This product release aligns with Iluvatar’s broader strategy to upgrade its product line toward next-generation AI computing boards, which offer enhanced computing power and command higher average selling prices.

At the same industry fair, rivals MetaX and Enflame also showcased their supernode systems. MetaX demonstrated the Xijing S600, which incorporates 64 fully interconnected GPUs per cabinet and supports scaling up to 10,000-card clusters. Enflame, supported by Tencent Holdings, presented its CloudBlazer ESL64-O system featuring an orthogonal hardware architecture developed in partnership with ZTE Corporation. Both MetaX and Enflame unveiled their products earlier this year, in July.

Earlier in 2026, Iluvatar went public on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The company reported its first profitability in the first half of the year, posting a net profit of 106 million yuan (approximately HK$124.2 million). Revenue surged more than 190% year-on-year to 945.7 million yuan, with its general-purpose GPU products driving the majority of sales, generating 916.1 million yuan.
